Queenstown offers some of the best skiing in the southern hemishpere at Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Cardrona and Snow Park. For more variety its only about 1.5 hours to get to Treble Cone. With so many mountains to choose from there truely is something for everyone's preference and ability. For more information visit our ski resorts page.

The ski season in New Zealand generally starts in early June and goes until late October. The best months are usually July and August, but spring can also offer great quality snow.

Of the four closest resorts, The Remarkables and Coronet Peak are the most popular. Cardrona offers a mixture of trails to suit any level and also has a pretty good terrain park. Snow Park goes off with rails, pipes and big hits everywhere.

With snow covered peaks and beautiful lakes the scenery whilst skiing is spectacular. Queenstown is what you'd expect from a vibrant ski town, with great accommodation, shopping and food.

Interested in fresh powder turns? Heliskiing operators in Queenstown have access to skiing on nearby mountains or mountains deep inside the Mount Aspiring National Park.
