Queenstown is centrally located in New Zealand's Southern Alps on the shores of Lake Wakatipu. Whether you drive in or fly in you will be rewarded with stunning views. Its just a short drive to Coronet Peak, The Remarkables, Cardrona or Snow Park. Beware of the roads in the winter as they are narrow and windy in spots and can be quite slippery in the mountain passes.

Most foreign visitors to Queenstown fly into either Christchurch or Queenstown airports. Those who fly into Christchurch have to either rent a car or catch a bus to Queenstown. Flights to Christchurch are generally cheaper, but the 6 hours of driving persude many to fly to Queenstown.
